Are you ingredients Organic?

Yes! All of our ingredients are AT LEAST organic. We take great pride in sourcing exquisitely beautiful and healing nutrient dense ingredients from the best possible places that we can find.

Are you bones from grass fed animals?

Yes! All of our bones are from animals that have been allowed to grow and feed on pasture. They are grass fed and grass FINISHED and allowed to eat whatever diet nature intended for them. We source specifically from a variety of local farms that share our beliefs.

How many ounces are in a jar of Bone Broth?

The glass jars hold 32ounces, the frozen plastic containers have 28oz

Can I freeze broth in your glass jars?

Absolutely not. The jars are too full to allow for the expansion that happens when the broth freezes. We suggest you transfer to a larger glass container or plastic container before freezing. Or ask for broth that’s already frozen in plastic quart bags/buckets at the shop.

What should I do with broth if it’s about to expire?

I suggest that you freeze it in smaller quantities like an ice cube tray and just use what you need when you need it. Or you can reduce it by cooking to a demiglace and reconstitute it as needed. We set the “expiration” at 2 weeks after we package the broth, but typically it’s good for 3 weeks in the fridge.

How do i know if the broth has gone bad?

It will smell like rotten meat or cheese. It begins with a strong gelatin set, then as it goes rotten, it breaks down to a liquid again.

Why would I buy gelatin instead of broth?

This product is specifically for those folks that are transitioning vegetarians or traveling. The gelatin does not contain the same protein and mineral concentrations that the broth does, but it is a protein sparer. This means that it keeps your body from cannibalizes your bones and muscle tissues when protein is scarce. It is also very soothing to the digestive system and great for joint health. This product can be added to any cold liquid or used to set a liquid if heated. In this way, one can hide its presence in a way that you can’t hide the flavor of the broth. Adding 1/2 -1 oz per meal with help to neutralize stomach acid and improve digestion and absorption of a meal. (Of course, broth does the same thing and has 2 oz of gelatin/cup!)

How do you use Pork Lard?

Just cook with it. It is a sweet, stable all-pirpose fat to cook with. You can use it to cook meats, vegetables, greens, even fruits. This is what Crisco was created to replace. It’s the secret to your grandmother’s flakey pie crusts and a great way to make bitter greens delicious. It’s also great for deep frying!

How do I cook with Beef Tallow?

Same as you would any high-heat cook oil. It’s great for frying, sautee, or just dressing warm vegetables or meat. It is very stable. Because beef tallow is uniquely rich in enzymes, many folks enjoy using it as a base to make a skin salve called “tallow balm” which is extremely soothing for aggravated skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

Do you ship?

Yes we ship anywhere in the states and have even shipped abroad. We do insist on 2-3 day shipping to guarantee the product arrives safely. We ship the broths frozen in insulated containers with ice packs.

What is the nutrition in the broth? Which is the most nutritious?

We did micronutrient panels on all of our bone broths. Follow this link to the results pages. You can see from the results that the macronutrients are almost identical in each of the broths, the biggest variations being in the amount of fat that each contains. The turkey, chicken and bison are the leanest that we carry. They vary slightly in micronutrients but only by micrograms.
