Beet Kvass

Beets from Sauvie Island’s Pumpkin Patch are fermented with whey to make this delicious, savory, blood cleansing, and energizing digestive beverage . Traditionally, kvass was a russian peasant drink full of plenty of lactobacilli cultures and made from rye berries — great to fortify the blood and your body. I add a pinch of salt before drinking, you may want to add more to taste. Try adding your own flavor with a sprig of rosemary or some juniper berries!

Beef Bone Broth

Bones from Highland oak ranch are simmered for over 12 hours with carrots and onions and vinegar to flavor the mineral richness that slowly steeps into this rich gelatinous bone broth. It works great as a base for soups, sauces, grains, beans or add some kraut and a bit of miso for a delicious and easy lunch. A warm cup in the morning is a simple and nourishing tonic to begin the day. This is the flavor of love!
Bone broth is the most accessible “cure-all in traditional households and the magic ingredient in classic gourmet cuisine, stock or broth made from bones of chicken, fish and beef builds strong bones, assuages sore throats, nurtures the sick, puts vigor in the step and sparkle in love life–so say grandmothers, midwives and healers. For chefs, stock is the magic elixir for making soul-warming soups and matchless sauces.
Stock contains minerals in a form the body can absorb easily-not just calcium but also magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sulphur and trace minerals. It contains the broken down material from cartilage and tendons–stuff like chondroitin sulphates and glucosamine, now sold as expensive supplements for arthritis and joint pain.”
Please Note: This broth is very dense and does not need to be eaten at its full concentration. Feel free to stretch this delicious, mineral rice supplement with water, vegetable stock or whatever you choose.

Dandy Blend - single serving packets

  • tastes like coffee but has no caffeine
  • no acidity or bitterness
  • sweetened with its own built-In fructose
  • contains all the goodness of dandelions
  • delicious iced
  • dissolves instantly in hot or cold water
  • can be used in any recipe which calls for instant coffee

Dandy Blend instant dandelion beverage is the only herbal coffee substitute in the United States that features both the health benefits of dandelion and the rich, full-bodied flavor, smoothness and texture of real coffee. Many say that, because it lacks bitterness and acidity, it actually tastes better than coffee.

Dandy Blend is made from the totally water-soluble extracts of three roasted herb roots: dandelion, chicory and sugar beet- and two roasted grains – barley and rye.  Nothing other than extracts of the three roasted roots and two roasted grains is in Dandy Blend. It is naturally sweetened by the fructose released from the breakdown of the storage starch inulin when the dandelion and chicory roots are roasted.  Because all sweetening comes from substances in the roots, Dandy Blend is a low carbohydrate beverage, with only 1 gram of carbohydrate per cup. All ingredients have been chosen because of the health benefits historically associated with them.  Every cup contains 630 mg. of dandelion and chicory extract.
