“To those who consider life something other than a monstrous belly with a golden navel for all to worship;
To those who have tasted and preferred renunciation, simplicity and freedom;
To those who make an art of living;
To those who cultivate poverty as a spiritual exercise whatever their religion;
To those who find in each moment a life to live for;
To the unwilling poor, victims of society, property, climate, injustice, ignorance, overpopulation, stupidity, evil or dumb pride;
Because it is clear that peoples kitchens all over the world have learned to adapt to what’s available
and from the nearly nothing at their disposal make more than just enough to live on, make sturdy, simple pleasures and elemental feasts.”
-The People’s Cook Book, by James Kardon

May 12th – Nutrition for the Primal Athlete 2-4pm
Join us on April 21st for an introduction to the longevity principles of the primal diet as modified to meet the specific needs of athletes. Learn how to use nutrition to compliment an athletic lifestyle while boosting performance, endurance, immune function, and long-term health. We will spend time in the kitchen making nutrient-dense energy bars for optimal balance before and after work outs and will blend liquid food for consumption during long events. This lecture and demonstration will be presented by Nutritionist Stephanie Pearson of Daily Nectar.
Classes are limited in size to encourage lots of hands-on participation. If you’re interested in attending this class, a $45 early bird payment made by May 5th will hold your space. For reservations made later than the 5th the price will be $55. This workshop includes recipes, nutritional and wellness information, and samplings from the foods that we will be putting together. To register online: http://www.dailynectar.net/registration-and-payment.html.
